Varsity Southend is situated just off the main pedestrianised shopping centre of Southend on route down to the seafront.
Now in it’s third year
the Varsity is well established as the number one bar in Southend. The bar is a very contemporary design with a multitude of comfy booth seating and sofa areas. We also have a very popular outside seating area where people enjoy watching the world go by in bathed in Southend’s famous sunshine.
During the day time
customers can enjoy breakfast from 10am
delicious coffee is served all day alongside the fabulous Varsity menu which is available from opening till 9pm. Another very popular feature of the bar is the free WIFI throughout the pub. There is no need to leave your lap top as our staff will come to you to take your orders direct from the table.
We are the number one venue in Southend to watch sport with three big screens and 10 plasma screens showing all Sky and Setanta screened matches. This season we are proud to announce the arrival of our second sky box which means that we can show two Sky channels at the same time – this means we will be showing all British clubs in the Champions League even when they are playing at the same time!
At weekends
the mood of the venue changes as we gear up for Friday and Saturday nights. We are famous for our retro illuminated dance floor

The White House London with its distinctive 'stand alone' appearance is a 3-floored hybrid venue incorporating a nightclub bar and restaurant. The space comprised of 3 bars a roof terrace members' lounge and dining area can all be adapted to suit the needs of the occasion.
The excellent ergonomics enable clientele to benefit from large open spaces while the contemporary design has created a sleek and stylish interior which is as beautiful as it is functional.
The White House can cater for up to 550 guests and offers a bespoke canapé & cocktails service. It can be hired on a non exclusive basis for smaller events during normal trading times or exclusive hire of a single floor with the following capacities: 250 for the ground floor 250 for the 1st floor (including roof terrace) and 50 for the members' lounge. For larger events the entire venue can be hired on an exclusive basis.
We have a full license extendable to 5am (7 days a week) so events can run all night.
